9:10 p.m. - Authorities say the Valley Fire that overtook several Northern California towns has killed at least one person and destroyed more than 400 homes and businesses.
A California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokeswoman released the tally Sunday evening as firefighters continue to battle the out-of-control blaze north of San Francisco in Lake County.
Lynn Valentine said officials confirmed one fatality, though she had no immediate information on the deceased.
Cal Fire had not confirmed the fatality report as of Sunday evening.
She said the fire has destroyed 400 homes, two apartment complexes and 10 businesses. Most of the destruction occurred in the communities of Middletown and Hidden Valley Lake, as well as homes along a shuttered highway.
The fire broke out Saturday afternoon and exploded in size within hours. It has burned 50,000 acres.

6:36 p.m. - The Valley Fire in Napa and Lake counties now stands at 50,000 acres and there is no containment.

Communities of Cobb, Seigler Canyon, Loch Lomond, Middletown and Hidden Valley Lakes, Livermore Road, Summit Lake Road and north of the community of Angwin.
Advisory Evacuation:
Pine Flat Road 5000 and above, Geysers Road out of Healdsburg 6000 block and above and Geysers Road out of Geyserville 9400 block and above
Evacuation Centers:
Kelseyville Presbyterian Church in Kelseyville and Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga and Highland Senior Center.
According to the latest information from Cal Fire, it is unclear how many structures have been destroyed. About 5,000 are without power.
12:15 p.m. - Cal Fire has issued a new, mandatory evacuation for Point Lakeview to Soda Bay (Hwy 281).

11:40 a.m. - The Red Cross has partnered with Petaluma Animal Services to provide pet care at the Calistoga Fairgrounds Shelter for those affected by the Valley Fire.
9:05 a.m. - Gov. Jerry Brown has declared a state of emergency in Lake and Napa Counties after a wildfire charred more than 40,000 acres within 17 hours, prompting thousands to flee their homes.
Brown said Sunday the declaration will expedite debris removal and waive fees to people who need to replace official documents lost in the fire.

7:25 a.m - The Valley Fire is burning out of control south of Clear Lake in Lake and Napa counties. In less than 24 hours, the Valley Fire has grown to 40,000 acres with no containment, according to Cal Fire.
Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for:
Kelseyville: Hwy 29 at Hwy 175 south on Hwy 175 towards Cobb, Red Hills Road to Hwy 29, Hwy 29 X Hwy 175 south to Seigler Canyon Road (south side of Hwy 29)
Calistoga, Napa County: Hwy 29 Tubbs Lane to Hwy 29/Hwy 53 (Lower Lake, Lake County) Butts Canyon Road to Napa County Line, including Berreyssa Estates, Butts Canyon Road to Pope Valley. Communities of Cobb, Seigler Canyon, Loch Lomond, Middletown and Hidden Valley Lakes.
Advisory Evacuations are in place north of the community of Angwin at Livermore Road, Summit Lake Road.
Four firefighters who are part of the Cal Fire helicopter unit #104 were burned yesterday and taken to the hospital. They were in stable condition with first-and-second-degree burns.
