Cal Fire says the Jerusalem Fire burning in Lake and Napa counties is now 90 percent contained. All evacuations and road closures have been lifted.
The wildfire has blackened a little more than 25,000 acres and destroyed 9 homes and 18 outbuildings.
Meanwhile, firefighters continue battling wildfires in other parts of California and several other states. Officials say calmer weather on Sunday has helped them gain more of an upper hand on some of them.
In the Angeles National Forest near Los Angeles, firefighters have been able to reduce a 2,880-acre wildfire to about 1,600 acres.
Better weather conditions helped firefighters Sunday in western Montana and prevented new fires from starting.
But in Idaho, a 70-year-old woman died after she fell while trying to evacuate a wildfire.
