10:15 p.m. - Cal Fire says 135 homes and 83 other structures have been destroyed in the Butte Fire, which is burning in Amador and Calaveras counties. As of Sunday evening, the blaze stands at 65,300 acres and is 25 percent contained.

9:45 a.m. - Amador County Unified School District schools will be closed Monday due to the Butte Fire.
The district released this statement:
This is the Interim Superintendent of Amador County Unified School District. Our schools will remain closed for Monday. Many of our staff, students and families are still impacted by the current fire situation. In addition, we are still dealing with evacuation orders, road closures and bad air quality due to the fire. Starting Monday the district will be making sure each school is in adequate operating condition to welcome back our students and staff during this week when the fire conditions allow. The decision to reopen schools will be made on a daily bases depending on safety considerations. Please continue to be safe.

Sunday 8:27 a.m. Containment of the Butte Fire has increased to 20 percent, but evacuation orders remain for San Andreas, Mokelumne Hill, and Pine Grove. Acreage burned grew slightly overnight, to 65,215. At least 86 homes and 51 outbuildings have been destroyed.
There are 4,163 firefighters and support personnel at the fire now.
They include staffing for 474 engines, 17 helicopters, and 102 bulldozers.The fire started Wednesday in the Mokelumne River drainage area and spread quickly through wildland areas and other drainages.
Cal Fire has not identified a cause for the fire.
