Officials lifted the evacuation advisory for Point Pleasant Tuesday. But the evacuation notices for Tyler Island and residents of the east section of Walnut Grove are still in effect.
The advisories were put into place after last week's rains caused some rivers in the area to overflow. On Tyler Island, officials anticipated the failure of a levee along the Mokelumne River.
There may still be road closures in the area and officials are urging motorists to use caution.
Residents returning to their homes are also being warned of possible contamination of private septic systems, water wells and small water systems.
