Dr. Garen Wintemute is an emergency room physician, professor and the Director of the Violence Prevention Research Program at UC Davis. His new research, titled “How to Stop Mass Shootings” and published in the New England Journal of Medicine, explores what might happen if two policies for selling and owning guns were properly enforced and how they could reduce future mass shooting incidents.
