Rick Reed conducted the survey for Pacific Staffing.
“They’re looking for more workers for replacements now – 45% of companies attributed hiring in the next three months to that need for replacements of people within the existing workforce but 39% were still looking for workers for growth in Q3.”
Reed says some companies won’t be hiring.
“Eight-percent of companies say they are reducing workforce in those three months and four-percent of those say it’s due to a slowing volume of business.”
…another four-percent say it’s because of the “change of season,” according to Reed.
The survey found that employers who are hiring are looking for people with skills in: shipping; warehousing; customer service; and the ability to drive a truck. Reed conducted the survey between late-May and mid-June.
