Forecasters have issued a severe thunderstorm warning for areas in Plumas and Lassen counties and parts of western Nevada Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service in Reno says a severe thunderstorm is producing hail and winds up to 70 mph. Forecasters say Frenchman Lake and the areas around it are being impacted.
As a precaution, boaters and swimmers near Frenchman Lake are being advised to get out of the water and to move indoors.
The storm is also bringing heavy rain and may produce localized flooding.
The warning is expected to last through 3:15 p.m.
