One hundred thousand, that’s how many visitors are expected to show up at Yosemite National Park over this Memorial Day weekend.
Park officials say there will likely be long lines and limited parking.
Towering waterfalls gushing down, warm weather, and picture-perfect scenery make Yosemite the place to be this weekend.
But tens of thousands of people have the same idea.
Park Ranger Scott Gediman says all of the campgrounds are full already.
“We’re definitely filling up the parking lots and we’re definitely seeing the lines at the entrance stations," says Gediman. "Not unheard of for people to be waiting at the entrance stations for an hour and a half to 2 hours just to get into the valley.”
Gediman says visitors should arrive before 9 in the morning or after 4 in the afternoon to avoid the long lines.
Or he says leave the car behind and take a YARTS bus into the park from the Highway 120 or the 140 entrance.
