Before joining CapRadio, Claire served as the lead editor on ABC10's Assignment Desk, where she managed daily breaking news spanning across 14 counties in the Sacramento Valley.
Claire is a Sacramento State alumna, where she studied political science and journalism. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the university’s news organization, The State Hornet, and interned on the breaking news desk at The Sacramento Bee.
When she’s not at work, Claire spends her time knitting, hanging out with her cat and volunteering with her Girl Scout troop. She grew up in the Bay Area.

Travis Shane Smith was arrested in 2021 and charged with reckless arson and possession of a machine gun. In January, a judge ruled there was “not sufficient evidence” to take the arson charge to trial, and another dropped the gun charge this week.
