Gathering of Information
Like all other web servers, Capital Public Radio's web server automatically creates log files for each visitor who accesses our site. Capital Public Radio also may ask visitors to provide personal information in other limited circumstances, specified at the time the information is gathered, such as a special event where registration information is gathered online.
Cookies
Capital Public Radio uses cookies to collect information. A cookie is a string of characters that can be written to a file on the user's hard drive when the user visits a website. CapRadio uses cookies to track users' activity through the site in order to improve the site's architecture and to offer the user interactive features that would not be possible without them, including hiding donation banners during fund drives. CapRadio works with third-party vendors which may serve sponsorship acknowledgments or other messages to you on other websites after you visit the site. These third-party vendors use cookies to recognize a visitor and to serve the visitor sponsorship or other messages approved by Capital Public Radio on other websites that they believe the visitor will find most relevant. This Privacy Policy does not cover additional cookies created by these third-party vendors.
Do Not Track
We do not currently respond to browser do-not-track signals. Instead, we adhere to the standards set out in this Privacy Policy.
Analytics Data Collection
CapRadio also make use of third-party analytics, cookie data collection and linking services (collectively "Analytics Services"), including Google Universal Analytics and Google Ad Manager. These Analytics Services may use cookies, pixel tags, and other tracking and storage technologies to collect or receive information (not including your name or email address) from our site and elsewhere on the Internet and use that information to analyze and measure our audience and target and evaluate the effectiveness of sponsorship credits.
To prevent data from being collected by Google Universal Analytics, use the opt-out browser add-on developed by Google for this purpose.
Use of Information
The information collected by Capital Public Radio on our website is used for internal CapRadio station purposes. The use of personal information includes the following: membership management, special event management, editorial and feedback purposes, CapRadio's marketing and promotional purposes, or other internal CapRadio station purposes. By providing this information, a visitor may receive an email from Capital Public Radio in limited circumstances.
CapRadio sometimes shares member mailing addresses with other non-profit organizations which may be of interest. If you do not wish your mailing information shared, please contact [email protected].
CapRadio may share with any third parties anonymous information that does not personally identify its visitors. The use and disclosure of such information is not subject to restrictions under this Privacy Policy.
Credit card information provided for membership purposes is protected with encryption. This information is processed by an outside credit card processing firm.
Sending us an Email
You also may decide to send us personally identifying information, for example, in an electronic mail message containing a question or comment, or by filling out a web form that provides us this information. We use personally identifying information from email primarily to respond to your requests. We may forward your email to other employees who are better able to answer you questions. We may also use your email to contact you in the future about our programs that may be of interest.

If you sign up for one of our email lists, we will only send you the kinds of information you have requested. We won't share your name or email address with any outside parties.
Opt-Out or Change Your Contact Information
Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving communications from us through a special online form. You may choose to receive only specific communications or none at all. You can opt-out of email communication by unsubscribing by following a link at the bottom of any e-newsletter message. Transactional messages, such as a receipt for an online donation can not be opted out of.
Children
Under 13: If you are under 13 years of age, please do not send any information about yourself, including your name, address or e-mail address. If we discover that we have collected any personally identifying information from a child under the age of 13, we will remove that information from our database as soon as possible.
13-18: Unless otherwise specified, you must be at least 18 years old in order to participate in online registration. Visitors between the ages of 13 and 18 must obtain permission from their parents or guardians before sending any personally identifying information.
