I’m interested in how health care policy impacts Sacramento and California, who gets access to care and the issues facing health care providers.
It’s no secret that health care in the United States is complicated. My hope is to shed light on stories of people trying to get care and the experiences of those providing treatment.
I believe that all people can and should be truth-seekers, and I can’t do this reporting without the help of the community.

Sacramento and Yolo counties have seen high levels of West Nile virus transmission so far this year, with each county already reporting a death. The regional team in charge of mosquito control is asking the public for help.

In the first renewal period since the start of the pandemic, Sacramento County shed 21% of its Medi-Cal cases, close to the statewide average. Advocates and community workers say the county needs to do more to make sure people don’t lose coverage.
