Creative Challenge Open to Professional and Student Artists
Sacramento, Calif. – Aug 17, 2015: Capital Public Radio is calling artists to submit original designs for its third annual PRINT RADIO contest. Learn the details and submit designs at capradio.org/print.
Capital Public Radio has partnered with Sacramento’s modern HOT ITALIAN Pizza and Panini Bar to draw up this year’s keywords: passione (passion), avanti (innovation), and fresco (fresh). Artists are to create two-dimensional designs to visually represent these concepts.
“In radio, sometimes our biggest challenge is painting an audio picture of a concept or an idea,” says Constance Crawford, director of marketing and public relations at Capital Public Radio. “This annual event is a fun way for us to connect to our thriving artist community with a similar challenge.”
The winning designs, one general and one student, will be chosen and showcased on biodegradable HOT ITALIAN pizza boxes for the month of November. The winners will each also receive a $500 cash prize. The top 10 artists will be included in a showcase the night of the event at HOT ITALIAN, November 4.
This competition is open to all artists working in 2-D mediums living in the communities served by Capital Public Radio: Sacramento, Tahoe/Reno, Stockton/Modesto, Quincy, Merced, Sutter/Yuba City, and Davis.
