The NTSB's Hersman said flight recorder data revealed that Asiana flight 214 was registering a speed of 106 knots on impact. She says the expected speed when crossing the landing threshold should be 137.
With regard to the two fatalities that resulted from the crash, Hersman said that the coroner has not yet determined the cause of death. In response to a question she did say that the two girls who died were seated in the back of the plane.
