The app, which is currently available in the iOS system for Apple, includes little-known facts, pictures and anecdotes about more than two dozen historic landmarks. Users can also locate nearby restrooms, bike racks, taxi information and banking ATMs.
There's an in-app purchase option for $1.99, that offers additional interactive amusement, including a triva game, scavenger hunt and a special "Murder & Mayhem" tour for those wanting to partake in the darker side of Old Sacaramento.
Those completing the activities are rewarded with a free treat from Evangelines, a prize from the Sacramento History Museum or a food discount from Ten22.
An Android version of the app is in the works.
