The National Weather Service is warning of strong northerly winds in the Sacramento Valley and the foothills and has issued a wind advisory.
"Since we've had some rain, some trees may fall, possible power outages and high-profile vehicles be careful especially heading into the foothills."
That's Johnny Powell, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Sacramento.
He says wind gusts in the foothills could get as high as 55 miles-an-hour...and in the mountains of the Northern Sierra Nevada, as high as 80 miles an hour.
In the Sacramento area, winds will average between 25-to-30 miles an hour with gusts up to 50 miles an hour.
The wind advisory is in effect through early Saturday morning.
