Hundreds of people and businesses are expected to drop off turkeys at the charity's headquarters in Oak Park until 7 PM.
"We'll turn around Monday and believe it or not we will server over 7,000 families in eight hours."
That's Blake Young, president of the Sacramento Food Bank. He appeared on Insight with Beth Ruyak. Last year, people donated more than six-thousand turkeys.
The food bank is also gearing up for it's biggest annual fundraiser, Run to Feed the Hungry, held on Thanksgiving Day. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the run. The 10-K and five-K typically draws about 28,000 runners and walkers.
"We hope we eclipse the 30,000 mark just simply because it's our 20th."
The event generates about $850,000 for the food bank from the registration fees that people pay to participate.
