A new poll finds a majority of Sacramento employers are feeling optimistic about the regional economy heading into the New Year. Most plan to add positions in the coming months.
The responses show much more confidence in the local economy than at the height of the Great Recession a few years ago. Rick Reed is a market researcher for the local staffing company that commissions the quarterly employment poll.
“74 percent of Sacramento’s regional companies say they expect to grow," said Reed. "So it looks like it’s going to be a very robust year starting with first quarter in 2014."
The poll shows 76 percent of respondents expressed optimism going into 2014. Reed says 60 percent of those questioned say they plan to add staff over the next few months. According to the survey, light manufacturers and service companies are the businesses that will show the most growth over the next quarter.
