(AP) — Police say gunmen opened fire late Saturday afternoon at a baby's birthday party in a Natomas park, killing one man and injuring six other people, including a child.
It happened about 5 p.m. Saturday at Peregrine Park in Natomas, north of Sacramento.
Officer Doug Morse tells the Sacramento Bee (http://bit.ly/1kXtY0j ) that attackers walked up and opened fire, then fled in a car.
A man in his 20s died at the scene. Police say he's believed to be a gang member but his name hasn't been released.
Morse says six other people — including a 7-year-old child — received non-life threatening injuries.
The group had gathered to celebrate the birthday of a year-old child.
Police say the attack appears to be gang-related.
