Through its subsidiaries, Kindred Healthcare runs everything from rehab hospitals to assisted living facilities across the country. The healthcare giant is in the news this week for a couple of reasons. For one thing, Kindred is upping the ante in a hostile takeover bid for a rival giant, Gentiva.
Also, today, Kindred is getting sued on behalf of hundreds of workers throughout California. This class action suit claims Kindred systematically violated state labor law by shorting workers on wages, overtime and breaks.
