(AP) -- Officials sedated and captured a mountain lion that had wandered deep into Sacramento.
Police and a Fish and Game warden were called to the area near 32nd and X streets around 11 p.m. Saturday where the animal had been spotted.
KOVR-TV reported that about a half hour later, police announced that the cougar had been tranquilized and captured.
There were no reports of any injuries, and no word on where officials were going to take the animal.
The spot where the cougar was caught was less than a mile from where an officer saw a mountain lion around 4 a.m. Saturday. That prompted police to issue a text alert for area residents to be on the lookout.
