6:55 p.m. - Sacramento firefighters battled windblown flames early Thursday evening in an auto repair yard on Stockton Boulevard near 21st Avenue. At least one structure and several vehicles burned, with homes threathened.
Electric wires in the area of the fire compounded the firefighting efforts, and access to the burning vehicles was also an issue as the flames spread. Sparks from the wires combined with water from the firefighting efforts resulted in a continuing series of sparks and small explosions.
No evacuations were ordered.
