6 A.M. A fire burning in the area of Yosemite National Park has charred more than 2,000 acres, destroying one home in a small community outside the park.
Fire officials say 90 residences and 50 outbuildings are threatened by the fire.
The National Park Service says the park is open, but there are a number of road closures and campground closures.
Last update from Yosemite National Park -- Sunday, July 27:
The El Portal fire is now reported at 2,632 acres and 0% containment. Multiple structures remain threatened with one structure reported as lost.
The Big Oak Flat Road between Crane Flat and the El Portal Road is temporarily closed. There is no access to Yosemite Valley via the Big Oak Flat or Tioga Roads or Highway 120. Tioga Road is open and accessible via Big Oak Flat and Tioga Pass Entrances.
Crane Flat, Bridalveil Creek, and Yosemite Creek Campgrounds are closed, as are the communities are Old El Portal and Foresta.
A Type 1 Fire Management Team is now managing fire operations. There are 585 personnel working the fire. In addition to ground crews, a DC-10, 8 tankers, and 6 helicopters are being used to fight the fire.
