10 A.M. Crews made progress Tueday with the El Portal Fire burning in Yosemite National Park.
Officials say the fire is now at 3,060 acres and is 19 percent conained.
Park officials say the air quality in the area has improved.
(AP) -- The Mariposa Sheriff's Department says those living in Old El Portal will be allowed to return home starting at 9 a.m. Those living in the area known as "Foresta" are still under an evacuation order.
The fire has charred 2,600 acres and is five percent contained.
Yosemite National Park is open, but some roads and campgrounds are closed.
There are nearly 600 firefighters working to put the flames out, and one structure has been destroyed.
