Cal Fire Dog Bar Fire Incident updates
Update: 11:30 p.m. - Fire Size Revised, Evacuation Center Closed
Yubanet.com is reporting that the size of Dog Bar Fire has been revised to 155 acres with 30 percent containment.
The reduction in acreage is due to GPS mapping taking into account the slopes of the terrain and the many unburned acres around the homes successfully saved by firefighters.
The evacuation center at Bear River High School has been closed.
Update: 11:15 p.m. - Evacuations Lifted
All evacuations have been lifted in the area of the Dog Bar Fire, according to Cal Fire. Traffic on Dog Bar Road and associated streets is limited to residents.
The fire is holding at 250 acres, and is 20 percent contained. Six structures have been lost, according to YubaNet.com. There are 200 personnel on the incident.
The fire is burning just east of Alta Sierra, about one mile west of Colfax, near Dog Bar Road.
Update: 8:15 p.m. - Fire Grows To 250 Acres; 20 Percent Contained
Cal Fire reports the Dog Bar Fire has grown to 250 acres, and was 20 percent contained as of 8 p.m. Saturday.
Mandatory evacuations are in place for all areas east of Dog Bar Road.
The west side of Dog Bar is open to resident only. Residents must have a form of ID: Cougar Ct, Bobcat Ct, Jaguar Ct, Tiger Tail Road, Panther Ct, Ocelot Dr, Blackhawk Ct, Black Oak Ln, Owl Hill Ct, Venus Ct, Buck Ridge Road, Wolf Creek Rd.
Update: 7:25 p.m. - Containment At 10 Percent, Three Structures Lost, 750 More Threatened
An evacuation center has been opened at Bear River High School for those forced to evacuate due to the Dog Bar Fire. The fire has held at about 150 acres, with three structures lost. There were 400 personnel on the incident as of early Saturday evening.
The fire was being fought from both air and ground, with an air tanker and several helicopters making water and fire retardant drops in the burn area, which consists of heavy timber, according to Cal Fire.
Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for the following areas: Post Chase Circle, Taylor Crossing, Oxnard Ct, Brougham Road, Clydesdale Road, Cougar Ct, Bobcat Ct, Jaguar Ct, Tiger Tail Road, Panther Ct, Ocelot Dr, Blackhawk Ct, Black Oak Ln, Owl Hill Ct, Venus Ct, Buck Ridge Road, Wolf Creek Rd, Loadstar Dr
Animals can be taken to the Nevada County Fairgrounds near Gate 8.

Cal Fire is reporting that evacuations are in progress Saturday afternoon as the Dog Bar Road fire is quickly growing.
The first report of the fire said the burn are was 20 acres, according to a Cal Fire tweet. About an hour later, the fire had grown to 150 acres, with crews aggressively working the incident.
The Sacramento Bee reports the location of the fire as just east of Alta Sierra, about one mile west of Colfax.
