The latest analysis from several U.S. agencies shows the drought is expected to continue through November in much of California.
The Natural Resources Conservation Service's seasonal drought outlook - effective through November 30 - shows the drought will persist or intensify in nearly all of California.
In a portion of Southern California, the forecast shows the drought remains, but with some improvement.
The report also shows the largest water storage deficits are in the Sierra Nevada in California and Nevada, southern Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico.
The service reports that California reservoir storage conditions remain “extremely low” and statewide reservoir storage is 57 percent of average.
