11:15 p.m. - Containment Grows To 84 Percent As Wet Weather Continues To Help
Fire officials report that containment of the King Fire has grown to 84 percent, with mop-up operations now taking place on the fire that started two weeks ago. The size of the crew on the incident also keeps shrinking, as there were 5,863 personnel as of late Saturday.
The wet weather Friday and Saturday kept the flames from spreading, as the burn area remains at 97,099 acres. The arson-caused fire has burned 80 structures.

10 p.m. Friday, 9/26 - Cool, Damp Air Aids Firefighting Efforts; Containment Grows Substantially
Firefighters made great progress on the King Fire Friday, as containment stood at 74 percent late in the day, with the total area burnt growing slightly, to 97,099 acres, according to fire officials.
There were 7,214 personnel still on the incident, which is about 800 fewer than were working the fire on Wednesday. A total of 80 structures have been burned, including at least 12 homes.
Relative humidity in the fire area stayed at about 40 percent, with temperatures ranging from 55 to 65 degrees through Friday. Light rain fell through the afternoon and evening, further helping supress the flames. The fire is not expected to move during the night.
Crews are working on building control lines and mop-up activities, according to the InciWeb report.
The Red Cross tweeted late Friday that the shelter in Camino would close at 8 p.m. Friday.
