The King Fire burning near Pollock Pines, has cost about $53 million to fight so far. The 9,700 acre fire is now 92 percent contained.
The El Dorado National Forest reopened areas previously closed because of the wildfire.
Re-opened to the public:
- Rubicon Jeep Trail
- Wrights Lake
- Desolation Wilderness
- east side of Ice House Road
According to the U.S. Forest Service, the wildfire is still active and some areas of the forest remains closed to the public.
