It's a rainy Wednesday morning, and there have been several accidents reported on the region's roadways.
Meteorologist Tom Dang with the National Weather Service in Sacramento says the area is likely to get one or two tenths of an inch of rain by the time the storm winds down later this morning - and though that may not amount to much, it may affect your commute.
"If there's any sort of rain covering the roads, it does oftentimes cause some traffic issues, so it never hurts to leave a little bit early and make sure that you have plenty of time to reach your destination," says Dang.
Dang says the wet weather and increased humidity will also have another impact -- decreased fire danger.
"I wouldn't necessarily call this the end of the fire season or anything like that," says Dang. "We just haven't had enough rain for that, but every little bit helps."
Dang says a light dusting of snow is possible above 7,500 feet in the Sierra. He says the forecast over the next week includes the possibility for a little more rain.
