It's likely to be a wet and windy weekend in the Sacramento area.
Mike Smith is with the National Weather Service. He says Sacramento could get about a tenth of an inch of rain, with northern parts of the valley receiving double that.
But he says the winds may be the real star of the storm moving in late Friday and Saturday morning.
"We could see winds speeds in the northern Sacramento valley blowing about 20-30 miles per hour, maybe some gusts stronger than that; probably about 10-20 in the Sacramento area, but winds over the Sierra could be up to about 50 miles an hour or more," says Smith.
Smith says there are concerns about blowing objects and possibly downed trees.
He says a couple inches of snow in the Sierra is also a possibility, which could cause some traffic problems over the mountain passes.
