The National Weather Service in Sacramento says Friday's fog will be burning off, but will likely return tonight.
Thursday's brief storm brought about a-quarter of an inch to a third of an inch of rain to the valley. Up to an inch of rain fell in some parts of the foothills and the Sierra.
Meteorologist Eric Kurth says the rain helped reduce the fire danger and more.
"A little bit more for the reservoirs," says Kurth. "But we will need more significant events, especially the atmospheric river-type events which can bring several inches. So we're hoping to see several of them this winter."
Kurth says the rainfall we've seen already is encouraging for a wetter season than last year. We will see some clearing over the weekend but Kurth says the forecast shows another storm coming early next week.
