The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is advising motorists to expect a daytime connector closure on State Highway 99 to U.S. Highway 50 due to emergency construction work on Saturday, weather permitting.
On Saturday, December 20 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. the northbound Hwy 99 connector to westbound U.S. Hwy 50 will be temporarily closed. Caltrans is scheduled to perform emergency guardrail repair work. A signed detour will be in place.
Motorists are instructed to use eastbound U.S. Hwy 50 to the 65th Street off-ramp, and then re-enter onto westbound U.S. Hwy 50. Caltrans recommends that motorists plan for the additional travel time and/or take an alternate route.
Additionally, Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and “Slow for the Cone Zone”
