The evening schedule for Capital Public Radio News is being modified to bring listeners more news, with the addition of BBC Newsday, and moving the rebroadcasts of Insight and Fresh Air Fresh Air to earlier in the evening.
Starting Feb. 2, Insight’s re-airing will begin at 7 p.m., followed by Fresh Air at 8 p.m. BBC Newsday will air at 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Science Friday moving up an hour, to 9 p.m. every Friday.
Capital Public Radio Station Manager Carl Watanabe said, “Moving Insight’s rebroadcast to 7 in the evening was long overdue. The topics and issues covered by Insight with Beth Ruyak make it clear the show should be on with our other evening news programs. Q from CBC had a good run on Capital Public Radio, however, in the last year, its audience has dropped dramatically. That wasn’t the main reason for the change, but it certainly was a factor. We’ll keep a link to Q on our website so fans of the show can still access it online.”
