A hotel and condo tower that will be part of the new downtown arena complex is a step closer to becoming reality. The Sacramento Planning and Design Commission has approved plans and designs for what's being called the "Downtown Plaza Tower." The 16-story building will include 250 hotel rooms, 69 condominiums and space for offices, shops and restaurants. It will also feature a public lobby.
“Today’s news moves us yet another step closer to breaking ground and realizing our full vision for the ESC and downtown development," Kings President Chris Granger said in a press release. "Along with our partners JMA Ventures, we commend and thank the City of Sacramento, stakeholders and the residents of Sacramento for their feedback in this collaborative design process."
The Tower is expected to be completed by the fall of 2016 - the same timeframe for the arena itself.
