This week will bring the introduction of competing tax bills in Nevada, including Governor Brian Sandoval’s 130-page proposed revision of state business license fee structure.
James Wadhams represents 33 companies in industries ranging from health care to mining. He says finding fair taxing methods is complicated.
“It is broad-based so it starts out with a positive for virtually everybody. As you know in this process there are some that are preferring different ways of calculating taxes. But all of my clients are supportive of the governor and willing to write him a check. It is a question of how that check will be written,” says Wadhams.
Also this week, committees will consider bills that would prohibit payday lenders from harassing customers, allow students to simulate guns and permit government management of feral cats.
The Nevada legislature meets every other year.
