The intersection of 16th and R Streets in Sacramento will be closed to traffic, starting at 9 a.m. Friday, for roadwork.
The closure will continue 24-hours a day until Wednesday at 6 a.m.
Crews will be reconstructing the roadway and installing new sidewalks.
The detour will take drivers around the project via S street, then to 14th, onto Q, and back to 16th.
