UPDATE 9:34 PM -- Polls for the Sacramento City Council District 6 Election have closed.
With 15 out of 26 precincts reporting, Eric Guerra is leading with 59 percent of the vote compared to 49 percent for Bruce Pomer.
7 A.M. -- Sacramento voters are headed to the polls Tuesday for a special election for Sacramento City Council District 6.
The Sacramento County Registrar of Voters encourages people to brave the stormy weather and turn out to vote.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Ballots were also mailed out to voters early last month.
Voters can locate their polling place on the Sacramento County Elections website or by checking the back of their sample ballot.
