CalTrans says the "Across The Top" project on Interstate 80 through Sacramento could cause some significant delays for eastbound traffic this weekend.
Crews will reduce eastbound I-80 to one lane at Reed Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday.
Crews are replacing damaged concrete at the Bryte Bend Bridge. Dennis Keaton with Cal Trans says they will also add lanes to the freeway.
"We're gonna have two bus carpool lanes for both the east side and the west side and we're also going to have auxiliary lanes so that traffic can exit and get off the interchange for I-5."
Crews hope to have the east side of the 10-mile project completed by July and the west side by late spring of 2016.
Cal Trans recommends taking Highway 50 to the Capital City Freeway if you need to go across town.
If you're driving from Davis to the airport, you can take Highway 113 to I-5.
