A portion of the El Dorado National Forest is reopening to the public for the first time following last fall's King Fire, which severely scorched thousands of acres.
Capital Public Radio Environment Reporter Amy Quinton toured some of the scarred landscape this afternoon. She spoke with us by phone from Georgetown, along the perimeter of the King Fire near the Rubicon Canyon.
