The Sacramento River Cats will have a new bat swinging Friday night-- that of World Series Champion and fan-favorite Hunter Pence.
The 32-year-old San Francisco Giants outfielder begins his one week stint in the minor leagues at Raley Field while he tests a fracture in his left forearm.
Pence was hit by a fastball thrown by Chicago Cubs pitcher Corey Black during Spring Training.
Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. against the Albuquerque Isotopes.
