Ceremonies and remembrances will take place Monday around the Sacramento region to mark Memorial Day.
Sacramento Congresswoman Doris Matsui will be taking part in the East Lawn Memorial Park's "Memorial Day" service in East Sacramento Monday morning.
City Councilman Jeff Harris will also be attending. The service is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
East Lawn Memorial Park is on Folsom Boulevard, at 43rd Street.
Meanwhile, the 9th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony to remember veterans and honor California National Guard will take place at the Memorial Plaza in Mather, Calif. The commemoration program begins at 10 a.m.
