Local artists can start submitting proposals for public art that will be displayed at the new arena in downtown Sacramento. A total of $1.5 million dollars in funding is available.
Shelly Willis is the executive director of the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission. She spoke with Capital Public Radio's Insight.
"The panel said let's leave it really open so that artists working in multiple disciplines have the opportunity to really suggest things that the panel can't think of," says Willis.
The commission will review grant applications and will fund a total of four projects.
