Caltrans is canceling Wednesday's planned closure of Interstate 80 in Loomis. The agency says work crews last night were able to finish lifting the King Road Overcrossing earlier than anticipated. The job was originally expected to take two nights.
In Placer County, work crews last night were able to finish early on a project to raise the King Road Overcrossing.
As a result, Caltrans says it's canceling tonight's planned closure of Interstate 80 in Loomis and a detour is no longer necessary.
The King Road Overcrossing is the sixth structure to be lifted as part of the Raise 80 Vertical Clearance Project to increase the vertical clearance of nine freeway overcrossings on I-80 in south Placer County.
