Crews are mopping up after knocking down a small grass fire in Elk Grove Tuesday afternoon.
The one-acre blaze was reported just after 2 p.m. on Bond and Waterman roads and prompted a brief evacuation of residents on Rushing Creek Drive.
Because the fire burned close to homes, there was some threat to structures. A tweet sent out by the Consumnes Fire Department stated that the blaze burned into fences on Blue Falls Court.
By 3 p.m., crews had extinguished the fire and were mopping up. There were no reported injuries. Evacuations were lifted as of 3:30 p.m.
Damage estimates have not been made available. Officials said in a tweet that wind and electrical wires may have caused the fire.
