(AP) - Officials in Sacramento have found more decapitated animals, bringing the total number of such mutilated animals to more than a dozen since January.
The Sacramento Bee reports Sunday that a couple searching for a dog found the body of a goat with its head next to it by light-rail tracks in Sacramento. Beside the headless goat was a bag of dead chickens, a headless rat and decapitated catfish.
The grisly findings Saturday add to a number of decapitated goats, birds and even cows in parks, remote areas and along light rail tracks in the region in recent months.
Authorities have a witness to the incident this time as well as video from surveillance cameras.
Gina Knepp, who found the goat, said there was no blood at the scene.
