(AP) - An attorney representing relatives of a bank robbery hostage who was shot and killed in Stockton says the family has agreed to an undisclosed financial settlement with Bank of the West.
Gregory Bentley, who represents Misty Holt-Singh's family, told the Stockton Record Tuesday he will file a lawsuit against the City of Stockton in the next two weeks.
The 41-year-old wife and mother of two was withdrawing money from a Bank of the West branch in north Stockton on July 16, 2014, when she and two bank employees were taken hostage by heavily armed bank robbers. Holt-Singh and two gunmen were killed when police opened fire on the getaway vehicle.
Bentley says terms of the agreement are confidential.
