(AP) - Thunderstorms are producing heavy rain in parts of Northern California and forecasters say a mudslide has closed a major highway in Yosemite.
The National Weather Service said Highway 140 in Yosemite National Park was closed Tuesday evening due to a mud slide.
The weather service says a flash flood warning remains in effect for Southwestern Tuolumne and Northeastern Mariposa counties. They say land burned in past wildfires is especially vulnerable.
The slide comes after days of rain in the Yosemite area that is the result of moisture flowing over Central California from remnants of tropical storm Dolores.
Forecaster Gary Sanger tells the Fresno Bee several locations in the Sierra down to Tulare County experienced more than half an inch of rainfall.
