6:30 p.m. - Cal Fire says crews working the Jerusalem Fire have achieved 50 percent containment, while acreage burned has grown to 24,000 as of Thursday evening.
The latest incident report says the fire is burning in heavy vegetation producing extreme fire behavior as the fire is driven by wind, its fuel, and topography. Unimproved roads continue to hamper fire suppression efforts.
The fire still remains extremely active and firefighters are working aggressively to stop its forward progression. Resources continue to construct fireline and defend structures, focusing their efforts on the southern and eastern flanks of the fire.
8 a.m. - Cal Fire revised its numbers Thursday for the Jerusalem Fire burning in Napa and Lake counties .
"The update is acreage is 23,500 acres," says Stacey Nolan, with Cal Fire. "It is 33 percent contained. And it's still under investigation."
Wednesday night, containment was only at 16 percent. Nolan says good progress overnight led firefighters to double containment.
"The temperatures are lower and we had higher humidity, which is helpful in the firefighting effort," she says.
Nolan says full containment of the Jerusalem Fire is expected on Monday.
6 a.m. - Crews made some progress overnight on the Jerusalem Fire, burning in Lake and Napa Counties. The blaze has scorched 23,500 acres and containment is up at 33 percent.
More than 2,000 fire personnel are battling the wildfire as 50 structures continue to be threatened.
Mandatory evacuations are still in place in the Jerusalem Valley area and evacuation centers remain open at Kelseyville High School.
