(AP) - A fast-moving grass fire east of San Francisco scorched more than 2,500 acres of dry brush near Livermore.
At least one unoccupied home was destroyed in the rural area Wednesday. The Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area, a popular motorbike terrain park, was evacuated after the flames were reported Wednesday afternoon. The fire was headed south and southeast, away from Livermore and Tracy.
Roughly 145 firefighters were working the lines, aided by three bulldozers, two helicopters and four air tankers. The fire is about 25 percent contained.
Cal Fire spokeswoman Pam Temmermand said there is no immediate danger to towns in the area.
