7:18 p.m.: Sgt. Doug Morse, Sacramento P.D.PublicInformation Officer, released the following statement:
Students described how they learned about the shooting and called the whole incident nervewracking.
KatherineStewart, who is studying to be a vet technician, says she was inclasswhen a professor came inand announced the lockdown.
"I didn't think it would happen in this area, I didn't think it would happen at my school," she says.
JudyPrater, who is studying chemistry, was walking toward campus when police told her to stay away from the area.
"There's really not much fear, more just shock, I feel bad for whoever it happened to," she says."I just hope they find who they're looking for."
6:30 p.m. Sacramento Police Chief Sam Somers tweeted the main campus is now clear.
Police still looking for one suspect last seen fleeing the shooting on foot.

Sac City College Public Information Officer Rick Brewer told Capital Public Radio the incident began around 4:05 p.m. with a verbal altercation between four individuals.
"At some point during this verbal argument one of the individuals pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and proceeded to shoot the other three individuals."
One victim was pronounced dead, one received multiple wounds and was transferred to UC Davis Medical Center, and one received a grazing and was treated on site.
One of the victims is a city college student.
"The campus is closed for the evening," says Brewer. "Satellite campuses are still open and have classes."
5:50 p.m. Police are now reporting only one victim was taken to the hospital. They're still searching the area and campus for the suspect.
5:40 p.m. Sacramento Police tweeted a map of where the shooting occured.
5:30 p.m. Sacramento City College professor Don Button was pulling into the parking lot when the shots went off.
"There were three quick shots, a slight pause and then three or four more shots. I couldn't think about what else it might be besides guns," Button told Capital Public Radio.
He posted this on his Facebook page recounting the event:
"I was right around the corner parking my motorcycle. Heard six to seven shots and walked around to see what it was. Guy on the ground with friends around, and another who looked like he had been grazed in the hip.
Campus cops were on the scene in two minutes, city PD took ten, then emergency folks another few minutes.
I almost entered campus on that road, but took the faculty parking lot entrance instead, would have been a witness had I done so. Close call."

4:29 p.m. The Sacramento Police are tweeting there were three men shot and one pronounced dead. The two other victims were transported to the hospital. The shooting occured on the Sacramento City College campus, near the baseball field.
4:47 p.m. According to Sacramento City College faculty member, Don Button, the Los Rios Community College District send out an announcement that two individuals were shot on the SCC campus around 4 p.m. today. One of the victims, a student, is deceased. The other’s id and condition are unknown.
Police ask that everyone stay away from SCC and that those on campus please shelter in place until further notice. Suspects described as one African American male and one Hispanic male.
Sacramento Police say Sacramento City College has been locked down at this hour as police search for a suspect wanted in a shooting.
Police tweeted that an adult victim was taken to a nearby hospital after the shooting in the 3800 block of Freeport Boulevard.
The condition of the shooting victim is not known.
