The National Park Service is reporting a fire burning in Indian Canyon on both sides of the Lahamite trail, between the Yosemite Valley and Tioga road.
The fire is estimated at 500 acres and was discovered Monday night. Suppression efforts are underway with two 20-person hand crews on scene.
Temperatures in the valley are expected to cool over night, aiding in firefighting efforts.
Trails on the north rim of Yosemite Valley south of Tioga Road and east of Yosemite Creek are closed.
